His Holiness Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavarmath was the first President of Janata Shikshana Samiti. His Holiness has become a synonym for dedicated service to the humanity. The swamiji, being a saint and seer had rendered yeoman service to the cause of oppressed, marginalised and weaker sections of the society. His charitable works at the time of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods and famines were commendable and empathetic. The swamiji never confined himself only to religious and spiritual aspects, he travelled every nook and corner of the society to bless the people with his spiritual and pragmatic ideas.
Sri SriVishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji is the present President of Janata Shikshana Samiti, was born on 3rd March, 1964 at Pakshikere, Haleyangady, to a ShivalliMadhwa Brahmin family of Yamunamma and Krishna Bhat and his pre-sannyasa name was Devidas Bhat.
A B.A graduate from Poorna Prajna Evening College, Udupi, Vishwaprasanna is a yoga exponent and an expert swimmer. He has taught shastras to Kaniyooru seer Vidyavallabha. He received "Sanyasa Deeksha" in 1988, when he was 24. He is also a publisher of a monthly magazine "Achara Vichara" and has established a goshala with 2000 cows at Neelavara near Kodavooru, Udupi.
A multi-linguist, is a lover of nature who has set up the "Prahlada Gurukula" behind Pejavar Mutt, which preaches Indian system of education as well as general education.
