Dr. Jyoti S. Hallad is a Demographer and an Anthropologist from Dharwad, Karnataka. She holds Master of Home Science in Child Development (Gold Medalist) from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad and Master of Population Studies from International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai. She holds Ph.D in Anthropology from Karnataka University Dharwad. She joined PRC Dharwad in April 1996 and since September 2012, heading the Centre as a Director.

During her 28 years of services, she has completed more than 80 Research projects funded by GoI, State Governments and international funding agencies on various issues related to Maternal and child health, Adolescents, Nutrition, Ageing, Migration, communicable and Non communicable diseases and Health Accounts. She has written 4 books, published 39 research papers in reputed national and international journals and presented more than 30 research papers in various National and International conferences.
